HAC is a method of analyzing and classifying the environment where explosive gas atmospheres may occur to allow the proper selection of electrical apparatus to be installed in that environment.
Scope of Study
- To review the existing Hazardous Area Classification of the plant with respect to IS 5572 and relevant international standards like NFPA 497,70 and 499, IEC 60079-10-1 and IEC 60079-10-2.
- To review the selection of electrical equipment installed in the hazardous area as per IS 5571 and IEC 60079-0 guidelines.
Typical Study comprises of Classification of Hazardous area as well as inspection of hazardous area electrical equipment complying with the classified area with respect to the current international and national standards.
Classification includes the zoning of the area handling flammable chemicals according to IS 5572 and IEC 60079-10-1 or dusts according to IEC 60079-10-2 or relevant NFPA standards.
